How KC4L came to shape Kentucky
Strong organizations are built by leaders with judgment and discipline. Explore the milestones—from our foundational legacy to our state-wide "Moonshot" mission—that have shaped KC4L into Kentucky’s premier leadership experience.
2020
The founding year
Founded in 2020, KC4L’s foundation traces back to the long-standing work of our founders and honorary chairs, Dr. Randall Capps and Dr. Cecile Garmon.
2024
Launching the First Annual Leadership Summit
KC4L introduced Kentucky’s first major summit dedicated specifically to next-level leadership development. Moving beyond leadership basics, the summit established our role as a convener of serious conversations for leaders transitioning into larger, more complex organizational roles.
2025
Naming Our Facility and Welcoming Our First Executive Director
In honor of a transformative gift from Houchens Industries Inc., we officially named our training facility at the WKU Innovation Campus the Houchens Industries Leadership Center. That same year, John Gregory joined KC4L as our first Executive Director, bringing 20 years of leadership experience in training, HR, and organizational development. Together with four new board members and our first manufacturing partner, these milestones equipped KC4L to scale as the preeminent source for leadership training in the Commonwealth.
2026
Present day
With a physical headquarters established and a growing network of executive alumni, KC4L is now scaling its "Moonshot" mission across the state. From our primary hub in Bowling Green to customized training engagements state-wide, we remain dedicated to building the leaders Kentucky needs for a better Commonwealth.
